Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus f. caespitosa

Guten Tag Gast. Schön, dass Sie mal hereinschauen! Einen angenehmen Aufenthalt wünscht das "Sukkulentenforum"-Team.
  • Hallo zusammen,

It is the second flower on this plant, but the flower is not complet it has no style, maybe later, when the plant is older. I have different A. kotschoubeyanus f. caespitosa. I have a clone from Thailand, it grows very slow and bad. Another clone is from China, it grows very well. This plant had a few fruits with seeds, when it arrived. From this seeds I have 3 very nice plants with the small heads and lots of offsets and a few with bigger heads, they make less offsets. I have no idea what the father-plant was.

Out of curiosity, did you ever see a flower changing because of the plants age? Frankly, I cannot imagine it will, but maybe I'm wrong. In my opinion it is rather a genetic defect than a question of age.
Regarding the bad growing clone, did you re - graft it? I assume it is grafted, isn't it? It's only a guess, but could pay off.

    Ciao,
    Marc.
